The world’s most expensive bottles of tequila go for hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of dollars! What is someone paying for when they buy such a fancy bottle of tequila? Well, the bottle itself, of course, is hand-crafted and exquisite. But you are also paying for the spirit inside. Is a thousand-dollar recipe worth it? We’ll let you decide!
The amount of agave. The best tequilas are made with 100 percent agave. But the regulators only require at least 51 percent agave, so that gives master distillers a lot of wiggle room with the recipe.

This tequila has a bottle that’s decorated with platinum accents and 0.925 sterling silver, plus a 24-karat gold label. The tequila inside has been aged for five years in sherry barrels. The Clase Azul 15th Anniversary Edition sold for $30,000 per bottle.

The price for this liquor is based on the recipe and flavor of the tequila.

The bottle features embellishments done in 21-karat gold. Inside, the tequila was aged for 10 years in French oak barrels, and the batches are just 2,000 bottles per year.

The draw with the Diamante is the bottle, which is made from platinum and encrusted with 4,100 white diamonds. The liquor inside has been aged for at least seven years in oak barrels. It took the jewelers about 10 months to design just the bottle. The distiller, Hacienda La Capilla distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, also makes the Tequila Ley 0.925 Ultra-Premium. It ranges from $3500 to $225,000 per bottle and has only 33 bottles per batch, featuring gold and silver bottles. (The $225,000 bottle was made from platinum.)
