Christmas Cocktail Recipes

Lots of blogs have Christmas cocktail recipes for the holidays, but we want to serve up something extra special. We’re bringing you Twelve Drinks of Christmas, inspired by that quirky, repetitive (annoying? You decide.) holiday jam. Drummers drumming, turtle doves - you get the idea.

This is a delicious, festive lineup of drinks to offer at your holiday parties.  Want to actually participate in the Twelve Days of Christmas and celebrate with a new cocktail each evening? These daily delights could be just what you’re looking for. We don’t care how you try them all. Just try them all.

Ready? On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… Here we go.

We’re forgetting about the doves and bringing the turtle power with the Martini Mistress’s recipe found here. Ready for the rundown? It’s chocolate vodka, dark creme de cacao, Baileys, caramel, pecans, and more. Yes. Hell to the yes.

3rd Day: Three French hens...

FRENCH 75

It’s a cocktail, not poultry, you know--but it’s certainly fitting. Follow Saveur magazine’s recipe right here. You’ve got your champagne, gin, and lemon. It’s simple and elegant. And it’s perfect for both the hens and the roosters at your holiday get-together. Cheers!

4th Day: Four calling birds...

BLACK SANTA

Based on our research, a calling bird is a blackbird. So, we’re calling for a black cocktail. Cocktail Flow features this recipe here, which brings a naughty, black-magic sort of Santa to your Christmas celebration. You’ll have a party with 2 parts vodka, 1 part coffee liqueur, and ½ part peppermint schnapps--all over ice. We just got chills.

5th Day: Fiiiiiiiiive gooooolden rings!

GOLDEN ALE BEER COCKTAIL

Many of us would prefer five golden beers by the time you get to this verse of the song. The Beeroness whips up this recipe here using vodka, hot sauce, Belgian style golden ale, honey, lemon, and more! Seriously, though. On the fifth day of Christmas, your true love really would give you a “beertail.” That’s how you’d know they were actually your true love.

EGGNOG HOLIDAY

Six geese a-laying their eggs, of course. We’re going eggnog for this addition to our Christmas cocktail recipes! Kitchen Swagger tells us of a cocktail here, and it’s boasting eggnog, vanilla vodka, Baileys, and cinnamon. Grab your cocktail shaker, and make it happen.

7th Day: Seven swans a-swimming...

RAMOS GIN FIZZ

More eggs. This time, we’re thinking feathery and frothy, in honor of those seven swans. Get the Epicurious recipe here! It’s all about gin, egg whites, citrus, sugar, and seltzer. Fizzy, frothy, foamy--fabulous.

SPICED RUM MILK PUNCH

We’re milking this one for all it’s worth. Break out the spiced rum, vanilla, milk, and nutmeg for this Yummly recipe you’ll find here. It’s a twist on the classic Brandy Milk Punch. And hey, it’s Christmas, so serving cookies with this is definitely encouraged.

9th Day: Nine ladies dancing...

PINK LADY

Though you may not want to drink nine of these “ladies,” we’re certain you’ll at least ask for another. The Spruce Eats offers their recipe. Get it here! Get your holiday fix with gin, applejack, lemon, grenadine, and egg whites. Don’t forget the cherry on top!
